BP continued commitment to TT

PRIME Minister Dr Keith Rowley and his delegation reported success in talks yesterday with British Petroleum (BP) in London.

A release from the Office of the Prime Minister said in talks with Rowley and his team, BP confirmed its commitment to work with Government “in developing and strengthening the long-term future of the gas industry in TT.” Both parties identified and discussed outstanding issues and went on to exchange proposals for their resolution.

They agreed, that over the next few days, they would work assiduously towards the resolution of these issues in a mutually beneficial manner.

Among the agreements reached was to begin negotiations on issues associated with Atlantic LNG and LNG matters in the second half of May. Rowley’s delegation included Energy Minister Franklin Khan, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Stuart Young and National Gas Company President Mark Loquan. BP was represented by Group CEO Bob Dudley. His delegation included Chief Executive Upstream Bernard Looney , Former Regional President (TT) Norman Christie, BpTT Regional President Claire Fitzpatrick, Head of Planning and Commercial Finance Richard Eaton and Vice-President Corporate Operations Giselle Thompson.
