LYNDON Brown, a 26-year-old man who survived a shooting seven years ago, was shot dead in Morvant on Monday.

Brown, a father of two who installs tiles for a living, was originally from Morvant but moved to his girlfriend’s house in Couva after he was shot during a robbery in 2011.

His father, who did not wish to be identified, told Newsday yesterday at the Forensic Science Centre in St James that Brown, after the robbery, became worried about his safety and moved in with his girlfriend.

Newsday was told he went into Never Dirty to visit friends when he was shot.

“I was watching TV when someone passed and told me he was down the road, suffering from gunshots,” said the father. Reports indicate at about 9 pm, North Eastern Division Task Force officers were told of a shooting in Never Dirty. When they arrived they found Brown lying on the side of the road. He was taken to hospital, but died.

Relatives described him as a bright and friendly person.

“He knew how to talk. He was the kind of person that people would gravitate to,” said his father.

An autopsy done at the FSC yesterday confirmed that Brown died from multiple gunshot wounds. The murder toll for the year now stands at 131.
