Woman gang-raped

A WOMAN who was lured into a car by a woman she knew, was abducted and forced into an apartment at George Street in Port of Spain, where she was gang-raped on Monday afternoon.

After being sexually assaulted by four men, she was dropped off at a taxi stand.

The victim, who was left shaken by the ordeal, reported the attack to the Maracas Bay police station and the Central Police Station. The woman said that at about 4 pm while walking down Frederick Street, a woman in a car called out to her and asked where she was going. The victim told the woman she was on her way to the Las Cuevas taxi stand to get transport.

The woman in the car offered the victim a lift. The victim saw a male driver and two other men in the back seat. One pointed a gun at her and told her she was being taken to George Street to meet another man. At George Street, the woman was met by a second woman and a fourth man. The victim was taken into an apartment where she was sexually assaulted.

After the assault, the woman was ordered into a dark-coloured car and taken to a taxi stand where she got a taxi home. Investigators are hoping to get camera footage from business places along Frederick Street to help identify suspects. Investigations are continuing.
