Murdered woman’s daughter blasts reports

THE daughter of murdered school teacher Margaret Guevarra took to social media yesterday criticising media reports regarding the circumstances surrounding her mother’s death.

Dominique Guevarra, on her Facebook account yesterday hit back at both mainstream media and social media users, adding that she was upset over the comments by public. The younger Guevarra added that her siblings are deeply traumatised by the events and urged users to keep the family in their prayers.

“My siblings and I were the ones directly affected by the situation and the comments being made by persons are so extremely hurtful. Please mind your words. You were not involved in the situation so please keep your uninformed opinions to yourselves.” Newsday reached out to Guevarra’s daughter yesterday who said she was still deeply hurt by the events and is unable to speak more on the matter.

Guevarra, 42, reportedly shot dead by a male relative at their home in Sangre Grande on Monday morning.

The man then attempted to take his own life by shooting himself on the face with his licensed shotgun.

He somehow survived and remains warded in hospital where he reconstructive surgery yesterday on his face. He remains warded in a serious condition.
