Airport taxi drivers: 'No PBR passes, no PoS rides'

By Nalinee Seelal

Eighty-one taxi drivers who are members of the Piarco Taxi Cooperative Society are threatening not to take visitors and other commuters to Port of Spain during peak traffic hours if Minister of Works Rohan Sinanan continues to disregard their request to renew 12 passes for the Priority Bus Route.

For several years the drivers have had an arrangement where 12 PBR passes are provided and shared among the drivers on a need-to-use basis at those times.

Yesterday secretary of the society Shahdeen Mohammed said drivers transport officials from Tobago House of Assembly (THA), businesspeople from Caribbean countries, tourists from North American countries and locals to Port of Spain.
