Former Arima Mayor to Chair NLCB

Eustace Nancis, a former mayor of Arima, has been selected to chair the National Lotteries Control Board. Nancis was named to the role on January 16, and received his instruments of appointment last Friday.

“I was asked to serve and so I decided to put my foot in,” Nancis told Newsday. He said he has no vision yet for the NLCB but when the new board convenes its first meeting, perhaps in the next week, he will have a clearer idea of what needs to be done.

Nancis, who is also a director at state-owned oil company Petrotrin, replaces Marvin Johncilla, whose term of office has expired. Newsday was unable to ascertain the names of the other NLCB board members.
