POS city council mourns

Port of Spain mayor Joel Martinez and members of the Port of Spain city council yesterday extended their condolences on the death of former president George Maxwell Richards.

“It is with great sadness that the City of Port of Spain recognises in solemn remembrance the contributions made by President Richards during the time he served, contributing to the national development of our twin-island state.”

They said Richards will be remembered for his many achievements and love of country. “He left an indelible mark in the lives of many. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family during this time of bereavement. May he rest in perfect peace. We shall miss him.”
