Military grade weapons seized in St Joseph

An anonymous tip led officers of the Northern Division Task Force to a cache of high-powered assault rifles in the Maracas, St Joseph area yesterday.

According to sources, the weapons are believed to have originated from South America and may have arrived in the country as recently as last Friday. Newsday also understands, the weapons used carry the same caliber of ammunition as that of the defence force.
