The original Paramin Parang will be celebrating its 40th anniversary on Monday at John Mader Recreation Ground, Paramin, Maraval. Showtime is 7 pm.

Chairman of the organising committee, Colin Romain, boasted that the signature event is the best run parang event in the country. He said: “Over the years we always try to improve what we are doing, and we truly have the best organised parang show in Trinidad and Tobago. That is the feedback we get that from the patrons and the artistes.”

He said that organisers have a good stage management team and altogether delivers a good package for patrons. Among the bands scheduled to performing are Los Alumnos de San Juan, Voces Jovenes, Voces de Promesa, Mucho Tempo and Paramin’s own Paramininos and Los Alacranes.

Patrons will also get soca parang from the likes of Eddie Charles, Leon Coldero and Ronoman, while young Robert Constantine from Paramin is expected to thrill the crowd. Romain added that patrons look forward to a full exotic cuisine inclusive of wild meat dishes, pastelles, empanadas, souse, provisions and pork, curry duck and a full stocked bar, all of which will be available.

The event goes to 2 am.
