Mystery over pavilion continues

The mystery continues over the construction of a pavilion in the Presidents Grounds playing fields in St Ann’s which some residents do not want.

A large concrete slab has been laid, and part of the ground dug up in preparation for the building.

In a brief interview, Minister of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries Minister Clarence Rambharat yesterday told Newsday his ministry was not responsible for maintaining the grounds.

He said “most likely” the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation was responsible for their upkeep.

But when Newsday tried on Thursday to find out who was responsible, the regional corporation and the city corporation denied having any authority and suggested the Horticultural Division or the Botanical Gardens oversaw the grounds.
