People with cash still in custody

The man and woman who were arrested on Thursday last, after being found with $250,000 cash are still in custody, and no charge has yet been laid against them.

Police sources told Newsday that investigations are still ongoing, as investigators are still trying to ascertain the source of the cash.

The man and woman, both said to be in their thirties, were arrested at their home in Longdenville Chaguanas by members of the Organised Crime Intelligence Unit.

Police executed a search warrant at the home and found the cash

The money is believed to be part of the $5.5 million which was stolen last Wednesday off the docking area of the Piarco International Airport.
