Probe pay concern of CCC youths

THE EDITOR: Last Friday, minutes after noon, a number of youths belonging to the Civilian Conservation Corps boarded the westbound maxi-taxi in which I was a passenger. Perhaps through fate, a young man who took his seat across from me was bemoaning the fact that the monies he was receiving would be short, while other individuals whose work and/or attendance record were not as good as his would receive more money than he.

I therefore now call on the relevant ministries, viz the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Labour, to order a probe into this matter.

My sending of this letter is a fulfilment of my promise to the young man that I would do so.
