At the age of seven, Vicky Boodram recorded her first music single, “Tassa Tempo” and several years later, was hired by a local radio station to host a weekend Chutney programme.

Boodram, whose parents live in Siparia, had a relatively normal upbringing and attended the Erin Road Presbyterian School and then Iere High School Siparia where she completed her ‘A’ Level studies. She reportedly has a BA (Hons) in Business Administration and an MBA in Marketing. She was hired by the Trinidad Broadcasting Company to host a weekend Chutney programme from 1998- 2004.

Boodram would later host, “Let’s Talk Life”, on WINTV in September 2010. In later interviews with various media, Boodram would reveal her favourite food as Chinese cuisine; her favourite book is “The Secret” and what she dislikes the most: “hypocrites, liars and downright stupid and ignorant people.” Her favourite quote is: “Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here, we might as well enjoy the dance”

She later opened a travel agency and with this, courted legal trouble which eventually led to her arrest in 2016 and 148 fraud charges being laid against her. Boodram, 35, whose last known address was 34 Gambal Street in Siparia, was on remand since March 2016, after being denied bail. An online biography listed her as the only child to parents Ramjass and Indra Boodram.
