The manhunt continued last night for murder accused Hamilton Small who jumped a wall at the Arima Magistrates Courthouse on Monday and escaped. Newsday was told that dogs from the Police K9 Unit are being used as searches in the Carapo district continued.

According to sources, after escaping police custody at the Arima Magistrates Court on Tuesday, Small returned to his Thomasos Lane home in Carapo, where, along with another man, he reportedly robbed his neighbour of her Nissan B14 car, 10,000 in cash, a cellphone and a laptop computer.

Newsday understands that despite an extensive manhunt, police are no closer to finding Small or his accomplice. Sources have said in the hours after his escape, Small was seen walking about, smiling and even talking with villagers in his community.
