Man held with gun

A 22-year-old Pt Fortin man was arrested earlier this week and charged with possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.

The man who lives in Fanny Village, was held during an exercise in the area. Police reported that at about 6.15 pm on Monday, they went to Sunset Beach in Fanny Village, where they stopped and searched the man. They found the gun and a magazine loaded with two rounds of ammunition.

He was arrested, taken to the area police station and charged by PC Kenrick Carter. He has since appeared before a Pt Fortin magistrate and the case was adjourned.

In an unrelated incident, two women who were reported missing by their relatives have been safely reunited with their loved ones. Nicolette Durgadeen, 25, was reported missing by her mother on October 30. She was last seen at her home in San Fernando.

Naomi Agard, a 17-year-old who was reported missing on October 22, was also found after being reported missing by her father.
