Trinidad and Tobago’s team Vesper captained by Adrian de Silva and crew members Jerome McQuilkin, Christian Valdez, Joshua Camacho, Peter Reid and Derek “Stones” Tardieu have won yet another prestigious tournament.

The local crew claimed victory over the weekend at the 26th Annual International St Lucia Billfish Tournament. Christian Valdez of team Vesper also took the top prize for Best Angler, having successfully released the most blue marlins of the tournament. Eighty anglers from all over the Caribbean, North America and Europe competed in the prestigious event that was held in collaboration with Island Global Yachting (IGY) at the Rodney Bay Marina on the western coast of St Lucia.

The tournament ended on Saturday, after 3 days of hunting the high seas for blue marlin, white marlin, sailfish, dorado and tuna.

Vesper’s 1st place finish guarantees them a spot in the 2018 Offshore World Championship in Quepos, Costa Rica.
