Cops rescue kidnapped goats

Members of the Arima CID and Task Force made an unexpected discovery while responding to a report of a stolen vehicle on Saturday morning.

In a statement issued yesterday, the police said at about 3am, their members found a green Toyota Yaris, which was reported stolen several hours earlier, at Noriega Trace, Bye Pass Road, Arima. When they checked, they found two live goats in the trunk of the car.

The animals were reported stolen from a farm in Wallerfield on Friday evening. No one was arrested.

And, at about 9 pm on Saturday, members of the Arima CID found a silver Nissan Tiida parked at Boys Lane, D’Abadie after it was reported stolen hours earlier. No arrests were made in connection with the theft.

On Sunday, a 27-year-old straightener from Santa Flora was arrested in connection with the theft of a silver Nissan B14 which was reported stolen last Wednesday. Members of the Stolen Vehicles Unit are continuing investigations.
