Imran Jan and Richard McFarlane, who were both fired from their positions as directors at the Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago (SPORTT), were both thanked “for the commitment shown to the company and country during their tenure.”

This, according to a media release from SPORTT, after their annual general meeting yesterday at its office, located at the National Cycling Velodrome, Couva.

Jan and McFarlane were removed from their posts on Thursday, and were replaced by Jeffrey Guillen and Hayden Manzano.

The media release noted, “Guillen and Manzano were welcomed and apprised of their role and responsibilities at SPORTT for the course of their tenure (while) a report from the Chairman Dinanath Ramnarine was also laid at the AGM.

“SPORTT continues to operate within the guidelines set by the State Enterprises Performance

Monitoring Manual (SEPMM) as well as ethical principles and legal requirements relating to corporate governance and holds these values in high regard. As such, the 2016 audited financials will be published, as is customary, in the coming week to ensure transparency and accountability to the people of Trinidad and Tobago,” the media release ended.
