Sea Lots man charged for interfering with girls

A 77-year-old Sea Lots man charged with multiple sexual offences against two girls was granted $150,000 bail after facing a Port of Spain magistrate yesterday.

The man who is a taxi driver, had his case heard by Magistrate Adia Mohammed, who committed him to stand trial at the next sitting of the Assizes.

He was hired as a driver by the parents of two girls, aged six and seven, to transport them to a primary school. However, some time between June 1 and June 30 2016, both girls were sexually assaulted. He was charged by WPC Makeda Edwards of the Child Protection Unit, Port of Spain Division, on July 5, 2016.
