Cops seize three handguns, suspect detained

Belmont police yesterday raided a house at Mt Hololo Road, St Ann’s, detained a 35-year-old man and seized three guns and a quantity of assorted ammunition.

According to reports, at about 6 am yesterday police went to the house and searched it.

The occupant was detained after police allegedly found two pistols, a revolver and a quantity of assorted ammunition.

The suspect, who has another address at Reid Lane, Belmont, was taken into custody and was helping police with investigations into a series of gun-related offences along the East-West Corridor.
