Trinidad and Tobago’s Miss Universe representative Yvonne Clarke will represent the country at the pageant on November 26 in Las Vegas. Clarke’s profile appeared on the pageant’s website with a biography and photograph, along with 69 other contestants.

Her appearance at the pageant was in doubt as on October 30, local franchise holder Jennifer Douglas announced that Clarke was stripped of her crown and disqualified from representing this country.

This action appeared to be triggered by the sponsorship Clarke had received from soca artiste Fay-Ann Lyons-Alvarez, who held a press conference detailing how she had put together a team to help the delegate.

Lyons-Alvarez had stated that she was approached by Clarke for sponsorship and had assisted with Clarke’s preparation inclusive of promotional photos and videos and a plane ticket to Las Vegas.

And even though on Thursday, Douglas announced Clarke had been reinstated her participation still remained uncertain there was also no profile on her on the Miss Universe website until the one seen yesterday.

Also, Lyons-Alvarez has since decided to no longer assist Clarke,

In a statement on Friday, MIME Limited, the company steered by Lyons- Alvarez, said the soca artiste would no longer be involved in Clarke’s endeavours, but from then on everything would be handled by Clarke’s team of professionals. It also congratulated Clarke on her reinstatement and wished her well in the international pageant.

Calls, voice mails and texts to Clarke and Douglas went unanswered.
