Trinidad and Tobago taekwondo fighter Brandon Joseph earned a silver medal at the recent 2017 Commonwealth Taekwondo Championship Games in Montreal, Canada, in September.

Joseph fought convincingly throughout his matches, making it through the seeded rounds to the finals. Going into the third and last round of the finals it was a tough and close fight against Canada which saw the TT athlete finishing second. He moved from the 68-kilogramme category down to the 63kg weight class division at the games.

Joseph said he learned a lot from the experience which will help in his progress and development. Joseph is registered with the Cheryl Ann Sankar Taekwondo School in Trinidad, but lives and trains in USA with Team Trinity Taekwondo School in Orlando, Florida that is instructed by Master Rafael Rodriguez. Master Sankar also happens to be the national coach for the TT taekwondo team.

Joseph is now looking forward to the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games.
