Cop charged for using PBR

A superintendent assigned to the Transit Police Unit was slapped with a $2,000 fine for the illegal use of the Priority Bus Route on Thursday night.

The fine was imposed on the senior officer by a Traffic Branch officer.

It is alleged the superintendent, who was responsible for traffic duty on the PBR and has the authority to fine people, was stopped around 7 pm while driving near Red Hill, D’Abadie.

In October last year the senior officer charged a man for using the PBR to take his pregnant wife to hospital and ordered him off the route. The couple got stuck in traffic for over two hours and by the time they arrived at hospital the woman had to undergo a C-section to save her baby.
