Eastern Boys win Atlantic double

Eastern Boys Government grabbed an unprecedented double in primary schools football, when they won both the Under-12 and Under-15 titles. in the Atlantic-sponsored Port of Spain and Environs Sports Council Football.

After a hard-fought first half which ended goalless at the Hasely Crawford Stadium Training Ground, Mucurapo on Friday, Andel Fraser blasted in a shot in the 24th minute to the delight of his team’s suporters in the Under-12 final.

And there was greater joy when Zachary Joseph netted a few minutes later to down Dunross Prfeparatory School 2-0.

Later, the Eastern Boys Government Under-15s got a dream start in their final against Diego Martin RC when a defender deflected the ball into his own net.

However, Hashim Portillo scored to level the contest only for Ryan Radellant to snatch the game winner for Eastern Boys.

Later, Fraser was named Most Valuable Player among the Under-12s while schoolmate Radellant took the honours in the Under-15s.

There to hand out prizes and trophies were league’s vice-chairman Simonetta Williams, Schools Supervisor I Carl Thomas and league’s chairperson Abeyola Akowe.
