MARCHING TO THE FINAL: Boys Town defeated Manzan FC 2-1 on Sunday to book their spot in Saturday's final of the Caribbean Welders Fishing Pond Football League.

Defending champions Take That and Cool It will meet Boys Town on Saturday in a star-studded final of the Caribbean Welders Fishing Pond Football League with $30,000 up for grabs at the Fishing Pond Recreation Ground.

Cool It booked their place in the title match with a narrow 1-0 victory over a profligate Dragon FC last Saturday.

Brendon Figuero was on target for the 2016 champions, but Dragon, depite enjoying the better of the exchanges, wasted a number of excellent opportunities. Jevon Vincent was one of the guilty parties, hitting straight at the Cool It goalie in a one-on-one scenario. Cool It, one of the most experienced teams in the competition, were not to be denied, and held on for the result.

On Sunday, Boys Town left it late but saw off a confident Manzan United team 2-1 in a thrilling match-up. Boys Town opened the scoring in the first half with a penalty which was perfectly dispatched by Kureem Clayton into the net.

But Manzan came roaring back, courtesy their inspirational skipper Darkile Ferreira, who blasted home the equaliser just before the half. Both teams pushed desperately for the go-ahead goal, but excellent goalkeeping and dogged defending kept the score deadlocked. But with three minutes remaining on the clock, Marcus Chandoo found himself at the right place in the box to power a header past the Manzan keeper and send the Boys Town supporters wild with excitement. They held on for the victory to set up a date with the reigning champions.
