SSFL to meet on Shiva Boys issue today

The Executive of the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) will be meeting today to decide on an appeal, raised by both Fatima College and Queen’s Royal College (QRC), concerning the status of Shiva Boys Hindu College’s midfielder Kierron Mason.

The ex-national youth team player, who joined Shiva Boys from Naparima during the July-August vacation, is alleged to have represented TT Super League team Marabella Family Crisis Centre in early September in breach of the SSFL Constitution. It is alleged that the SSFL issued a warning to Shiva Boys over the matter last week, which raised the ire of both Fatima and QRC, who decided to appeal that decision.

This issue is a further blow to the SSFL hierarchy, after Fyzabad were removed from the 2017 Premier Division for registering a pair of players with false examination certificates.
