Living in harmony

THE EDITOR: Despite the good-intentioned call by the President for the population to ignore the negativities in our lives and live in harmony, this is unlikely to happen here as long as our citizens keep electing our political representatives on a racial basis and the crime rate, especially murders, continues to be relevant to our everyday existence.

The politicians on both sides of the fence must stop antagonising each other when in power or as the opposition and stop the habit of discrimination and inequality. They must endeavour to head their political agenda with the aim of racial integration and not instil more racial hatred by their words, doctrine or beliefs, especially where political superiority is concerned. They must also restore the death penalty in order to curb the rate of slaughter of our innocent folks.
