Last laugh for TT against US

THE EDITOR: The US footballers called the venue for the World Cup qualifier with TT a river. They said it was too small. It had an athletics track. Many stadiums are multipurpose.

All of this before the game. They smelt what was cooking. They knew what was coming. History will record we beat them 2-1.

And while we did not qualify for the World Cup, neither did the US. Misery loves company.

TT beat the US on a regulation field cleared for play by the match commissioner. The crowd was small and the capacity of the stadium was not huge. This is a FIFA certified stadium.

Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama have qualified, Honduras is in a playoff. TT and the US have work to do.

God bless our nation of many varied races. Winning is not everything, it is the only thing.
