Half centuries from Jyd Goolie and Tion Webster led the Marlon Richards XI to an impressive fightback on the final day of the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force trial match at the National Cricket Centre in Couva, yesterday.

Unfortunately only 52 overs were possible on the final day because of rain. Resuming the day on 97 runs for five wickets in the first innings, the Richards XI closed on 262/9 when rain ended play in response to the Imran Khan XI total of 406. Goolie topscored with 64 from 136 deliveries cracking four fours, while Webster scored an aggressive 59 off 74 balls with five fours and one six. Bryan Charles pitched in with an unbeaten 31, while opener Amir Jangoo contributed 33.

Bowling for the Imran Khan XI, Jon-Russ Jagessar (2/16), Khan (2/39), Roshon Primus (2/41) and Khary Pierre (2/44) all shared the wickets.
