Bankrupt of intelligence

THE EDITOR: Sometimes I wonder at the level of intelligence of the people chosen to run this country. When the Opposition Leader said the budget was “bankrupt,” I’m sure she meant “bankrupt of ideas”. But Minister Stuart Young, in his eternal wisdom, taking issue with Mrs Persad-Bissessar’s statement, wanted to know which person would want to lead their country into bankruptcy. If that is what is meant by being “bright,” heaven help us all.
