Faster entry to UK for TT nationals

Nationals of TT who visit the United Kingdom regularly can now enjoy faster entry at UK borders as they will be eligible to apply to join the UK’s Registered Traveller Service.

The service, which was available from yesterday, approves members who have undergone advanced security checks, an expedited clearance through the UK border.

According to UK Immigration Minister Brandon Lewis, “Trinidad and Tobago is just one of 40 countries which can now benefit from the Registered Traveller Service.

High Commissioner to TT Tim Stew said, “We are always looking for ways to streamline our relationship with Trinidad and Tobago citizens and businesses.

This is a great opportunity for frequent travellers from Trinidad and Tobago to get quicker access to the UK. ” To be eligible to apply to become a registered traveller, passengers must hold an eligible passport, have a visa for the UK or have visited the UK at least four times in the past two years.
