Top three look to stay ahead of chasing pack

The top three teams in the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Premier Division – Shiva Boys, Presentation San Fernando and Naparima, will be looking to stay ahead of the chasing pack today, with Round Eight action set to take place.

Shiva Boys, Presentation San Fernando and Naparima all have tallied 16 points from seven games, and there is a likelihood that the aforementioned trio can continue to set the pace in the 16-team standings.

Reigning champs Shiva Boys will be hosting eighth-placed Trinity East at Penal, Presentation San Fernando will be visiting cellar-placed Speyside and Naparima will be entertaining neighbours St Benedict’s at Lewis Street, San Fernando.

St Mary’s, St Anthony’s, Fyzabad and St Augustine will all be playing their third games within the space of five days. St Mary’s will be visiting Fyzabad, St Anthony’s will be heading to Moka, Maraval to tackle Trinity Moka and St Augustine are set to meet QRC at the QRC Ground in St Clair.

Also on today’s plate will be Carapichaima East against Signal Hill at Carapichaima and San Juan North, the only unbeaten team left in the group, against Fatima at the San Juan Ground.
