Grovesnor faces former team St Anthony’s

Nigel Grovesnor, who was at the helm of St Anthony’s College – also known as the “Westmoorings Tigers” – for over 20 years, will face his former team today as Queen’s Royal College welcome St Anthony’s in Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Premier Division action.

Grovesnor took over as the QRC coach during the off-season and will be looking to get the better of his old bunch at the QRC Ground, St Clair. QRC have not had a good start to the league, languishing in 13th place with just one win from their first six games. St Anthony’s, in contrast, are in the title hunt, three points adrift of the top spot with a game in hand.

Leaders Shiva Boys will make the drive from Penal to Mucurapo to tackle Fatima while second-placed Presentation San Fernando visit Fyzabad.

Third-placed Naparima entertain St Mary’s while Carapichaima East will be fancying their chances at home against the table-proppers and winless St Benedict’s College.

Also on today’s agenda, there will be a Trinity showdown at Maraval with Trinity Moka hosting Trinity East, while Signal Hill host San Juan North, and Speyside will make the inter-island trip to battle St Augustine.

All of today’s matches begin at 3.40 pm.
