Credit union customer robbed

Police are searching for two gunmen who on Wednesday relieved a 53-year-old businessman of Calcutta Settlement, Freeport of 22,200 in cash. Police said the man was standing in the yard of the Susumachar Credit Union at Carib Street, San Fernando when the incident occurred. The bandits took the businessman’s wallet containing his ID card and drivers permit. He is a customer of the credit union and was going to deposit into his account. According to a police report, at 12.40 pm on Wednesday, the customer was in the yard when he was approached by the gunmen.

One of the bandits placed a gun to the businessman’s head while the other proceeded to rob him. They then escaped in a white Nissan Tiida hen proceeded to rob him of cash his money and wallet before making good their escape in a white Nissan Tida car. San Fernando police are investigating.
