Eastmond triumphs at Republic Day Cycling Classic

Jamol Eastmond, representing Heatwave Club, triumphed in the feature race, the Invitational Elite 1, 2 and 3, on Sunday, at the Michael Phillips Republic Day Cycling Classic, which took place along the Diego Martin Highway, Diego Martin.

Eastmond, from Barbados, completed the course ahead of Lewis Reviera, who represented Econo-car, while Stalin Quintario of Raiders finished third.

Bernando Diaz of The Braves was fourth, followed by Jake Silverburg and the evergreen Emile Abraham, both of Pharmaco. Rounding off the top 10 were Phillip Clarke (Knights FR), Yoxmel Diaz (The Braves), Luiz Diaz (The Braves) and Romelio Crawford (PSL).

In the Elite 3 race, Kegan Brathwaite of Open Road took the gold medal, with Vishal Bachoon placing second.

There were a number of races which were staged under sunny conditions at Diego Martin.

One of those races was the Ladies Senior, with Teneil Campbell of PSL emerging victorious, with Cheyenne Awai (Unattached), Tonya Suukow (The Braves) and Tamiko Butler (Team DPS) trailing.

And, in the Ladies Junior, Mariel Youk See of Madonna Wheelers was the lone finisher.
