Brian Lara injures leg at home

Local cricket icon and international cricketing legend Brian Lara injured his leg in a fall at his home last week.

Lara spoke to his fans in a video posted to social media from his home at residence at Lady Chancellor Hill, St Clair. In the video he is seen laying on a bed with bandages to his right knee and shin. He said that he was on the staircase to his garden which does not have railings up yet and fell down ten feet.

"(I) did some damage."

Lara was in good spirits and said he had his bag of plumbs and remote control and would be watching the FedExCup golf tournament all weekend; the cricket star is an avid golfer.

“Life goes on”.

Lara, 48, played cricket for the West Indies from 1990 to 2007 and is the holder of multiple records including highest individual score in a Test innings after scoring 400 not out against England at Antigua in 2004.
