Hurricane Irma intensifies to a Category 4

Hurricane Irma has strengthened to a Category 4 storm. The National Hurricane Centre says additional strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours. The Centre says the centre of Irma will move near or over portions of the northern Leeward Islands Tuesday night and early Wednesday. A hurricane warning is in effect for several islands including Antigua, Bahamas, Anguilla, Saint Martin and Saint Barthelemy.
