Schools ready to re-open

Senior officials from the Ministry of Education will meet on Friday of this week with members from the Education Facilities Company Limited (EFCL), to ensure everything is in place for the reopening of schools for the new school term in September, according to Education Minister, Anthony Garcia.

However, he said the ministry has been meeting regularly with various departments within the Ministry of Education.

“Only yesterday I met with the Permanent Secretary and other senior officials from the Ministry of Education and we have been assured that things are on stream.”

Garcia said he is hopeful when schools reopens in September, all doors will be there opened for the nation’s children to access an education which is their right.

Meanwhile, in a release, the Ministry of Education advised parents who were seeking transfers and have been approved for the Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) 2017, the packages are available and can be collected at the respective Education District Office where the student was originally assigned to a secondary school.

The ministry said the approved transfers are available from today, and secondary schools principals are also being advised to collect their SEA 2017 transfer packages at their respective Education District Offices.
