GLENORA SPORTS put in a good all-round performance to spank Orange Field by 53 runs on Saturday to claim the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) Courts-sponsored Inter Zone T20 Final at the Caldrac Ground.
Glenora, who batted first, posted a formidable 163 runs for six wickets off their allotted overs with Man-of-the-Match and captain Clevon Fredericks notching 61 off 59 balls with four fours and a six, while Kwinsi Williams contributed 24 off 22 deliveries with a four and a six. Aaron Fredericks chipped in with 16 and David Adams 14.
For Orange Field, Dennis Legay took two wickets for 22 runs off four overs while ex-TT batsman, 49-year-old Deonarine Deyal, had 2/26 off three overs.
Deyal, with the bat, made 17 off 21 balls with three fours and, with his opening partner Mark Gajhadhar (35 off 31 with a four and a six), posted an opening stand of 25 in 5.1 overs.
But wickets fell at regular intervals, and Orange Field folded for 110 in 18.2 overs, with tailender Geewan Kissoon chipping in with an unbeaten 13.
Seve Fraser captured 3/20 off three overs and Stefon Bisson 2/20 off four overs for Glenora.
In the third-place playoff, Triumph strolled to a seven-wicket win over Endeavour Sports.
Batting first, Endeavour were skittled out for 93 in 19.2 overs, with Man-of-the-Match Damian Peters, who returned with figures of 3/7 in 1.2 overs, taking a hat-trick to end the innings.
In the last ball of the 18 th over, he removed Deo Roopnarine (four) and, in the last over, he sent back Ryan Mohammed (two) and Hemant Balai (for a top-score of 23 off 29 balls).
Daniel Sookram chipped in with 3/20 and Alex Fredericks 2/22 for Triumph.
Balai got support from his captain Fazil Baksh, who struck a run-a-ball 22 (with three fours) and Natram Wilfread (10).
Triumph needed 15.3 overs to reach 95/3, with a 55-run opening stand between Mark Sankar (25 off 43) and Johnaton Narine (27 off 34 with two fours and a six).
And Rikki Ramlakan saw his team to victory with 19 off seven with a four and two sixes.
Mohammed got 2/32 off four overs for Endeavour.
