Ball Players drub Brooklyn

JOVANKA SIMON produced a good all-round performance as Ball Players drubbed Brooklyn by 33 runs on May 23, in a Women Division contest, as the Tyro Sports Club Day/Night Windball Cricket League continued at Santa Cruz.

Ball Players posted a score of 119 runs for six wickets with Simon leading the way with 32, while Britney Cooper contributed 20, Gail David 18 not out and Desire Simon 12.

Sherene Ramkissonon claimed three wickets for 19 runs for Brooklyn.

In response, Brooklyn were only able to muster 86/6 with Shenelle Lord hitting 15 and Ramkissoon 13. Ria Mangroo collected 3/30 and Simon 2/13 for Ball Players.

In a 45-and-over Division encounter, Rebels whipped Club House by five wickets, in a 12-over-per-side game.

Club House posted 107/3 courtesy of 38 by Shean De Silva, an unbeaten 34 from Andre Western and 21 from Sheldon Thomas. Bertram Percival took 3/14 with the ball.

In Rebels’ run chase, Percival led the way with 42 while Derrick Woods chipped in with 28 as they reached 108/5.

45-and-over Division: BIG MEN 68/8 - Newlin Paul 12, Richard Morang 11 not out; Perry Jaggan 3/19, Elvin Brathwaite 2/8 vs TYRO 46/7 - Stephen Reyes 14; Perry Lezama 2/7. Big Men won by 21 runs.



May 20 -

Men Division: LAWBREAKERS 71 - Ronald Griffith 14; Christian Norway 5/20, Alonzo McLeod 2/3 vs OVERCOMERS 73/4 - Christian Norway 50 not out; Ryan Griffith 3/16. Overcomers won by six wickets.

Men Division: SUNRISE YOUTHS beat UNITED PROGRESSORS “A” by default.



May 21 -

Women Division: CRICKET LOVERS 64/7 - Natalie Ninah 16, Amy Holder 15 not out; Yvette Samuel 5/10 vs TAMANA UNITED 65/1 - Sylvia Bolah 23 not out, Lucy Bolah 20 not out. Tamana won by nine wickets.



May 22 -

Men Division: BLOOD BROTHERS 93/8 - Narindra Taylor 27, Roshan Ramcharan 13; Oboi Ferreira 6/11 vs PETIT BOURG PROGRESSORS 67/9 - Rasheed Ali 13; Kendell Charles 4/8. Blood Brothers won by 26 runs.

Men Division: HEADGONE beat MORE FIRE by default.
