Out Cast upset Cousin in Tunapuna league

ISAIAH Rajah scored an unbeaten half century to help set up a 95-run upset win for Out Cast over Cousins in their Group B clash of the Tunapuna Sport Movement 35th Annual Windball Cricket Tournament at Constantine Park Macoya on Saturday.

This was Out Castís fourth win which has pushed them up to third in the standings on 68 points from six matches while it was the first defeat for Cousins in their six matches.

Rajah slammed 86 as his team made 152 for six from their 15 overs. Marc Panchu and Richard Kelly supported with 18 and 12 runs respectively. Leslie Martin was the most successful bowler with three for 27.

In their turn at the crease Cousin who are second in the standings on 85 points, found the going tough and could only manage 57 from their allotted overs for the loss of seven wickets. Bennidict Pancheco top scored with 18 while Ian Panchu had two for eight and Ryan Rampersad two for nine.

On Sunday Addicts moved into third with a comprehensive 112-run win over bottom of the table Home Boys in another Group B encounter.

Addicts taking first strike made 152 for eight from their overs with Derick Jaglal making a top score of 44. Jabbout Finley made 16 and Kendall George 12. Ronald Ramoutar was the main wicket taker with four for 23.

In reply Home Boys were routed for 40 in ten overs with only Jameel Lashley offering any resistance making 20. Daniel Phagoo, Sean Joseph and George each took one wicket.

On Friday DX Files upset Maxi Men by four wickets in their Group A contest. The win pushed Files into third while it was the second defeat for the Maxi team who are leading on 76 points.
