CONNECTIONS must pay up fifth subscription fees for this year’s edition of the Trinidad Derby Stakes by next Wednesday.

To date, 25 three-year-olds had subscription fees paid for the Blue Riband event to be run on Republic Day, September 24.

A fifth subscription fee of $600 is to be paid for the 2000 race metres with a total purse of $500,000 by September 8.

Heading the list for which fourth subscription fees were paid is Onetokeep, winner of the recent inaugural running of the BLB Trinidad and Tobago Breeders Classic.

But before the running of the Derby, the “babes” will be in action in the 1000 metres Nursery Stakes to be run on September 8.

The connections of Readyforstanley paid a $2,400 penalty for their charge to race in the event with a purse of $100,000.

At the close of third nominations, there were 13 two-year-old “babes” left in with a final nomination fee of $800 to be paid at time of entry.

Safra Tilah, a recent winner over 800 metres is the headliner in this race.

And three-time “Horse of the Year” Bruceontheloose heads 19 for which second nomination fees were paid for the 1350 metres race with a total purse of $150,000. Lang Amour had a penalty fee of $1,200 paid for him to run in the race scheduled to be run on Republic Day.

All owners and trainers are reminded they have until September 12 to pay the third nomination fee.
