THIS year’s edition of the $150,000 President’s Cup at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, on Saturday, is going to be a closely contested event.

Two-time “Horse of the Year” Bruceontheloose strutted his stuff over 800 metres on Sunday morning, clocking 49.4 seconds for the trip.

And Buffalo Soldier and Burst Of Energy galloped through 1000 metres in a good one minute 02.0 seconds.

But controversial Boogie Blues signalled he will take a hand in the finish with a steady run over 1000 metres completed in one minute 07.1 seconds yesterday.

Meanwhile, Golden Dixieland who holds the President’s engagement galloped over 800 metres timed in 49.2 seconds.

And also Ignition Coil showed off his fleet foot over the same trip in 48.1 seconds.

Mobthewarrior who is also among the President’s field, had a steady gallop over 400 metres in 28.4 seconds.

Gallop of Sunday morning, however, came from Skyline Pigeon who stepped over 800 metres in 48.3 seconds..

And Odin had an eye-opener gallop over 800 metres in 49.4 seconds.
