TRINIDAD AND Tobago topped two age group categories as the three- day Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships teed off at the Guavaberry Golf and Country Club, Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic yesterday.

In the boys 16-17 category, Matthew Marquez sits atop the leaderboard with a score of 69, with Jose Hernandez of the Dominican Republic four strokes adrift in second spot while Frederick Thon of Puerto Rico was third with 74.

The other TT golfers in this 19-member group, Robert Boocock (85) and Jean-Marc Lawrence (87) were in 10th and 13th places respectively.

Wan Ju Lee holds the top spot in the boys 14-15 with 72, with Ernesto Gracia one stroke back while, sharing third place with 74, was the duo of Julian Estevez and Francisco Pichardo.

Axl Bailey (80) and Dinesh Jackree (82), the other TT players in this 20-member bunch, were ninth and 12th respectively.

Lucas Hernandez (unattached) is the leader in the boys 11-13 category with 73, followed by the TT pair of Liam Bryden (76) and Sachin Kumar (77).

And, in the girls 14-15, Kristina Ortiz of Puerto Rico is the pace-setter with 76, while TT’s Ysabelle Lawrence is fifth on 84 while Keziah Bailey is joint-seventh, with Bahamas’ Asiya Robinson, on 88.

No scores were available, up to press time last evening, in the girls 11- 13 and 16-17 age groups respectively.
