Despite the lateness regarding its participation, volunteers from several Triathlon Clubs held Triathlon and Duathlon Races for the entire morning and were even forced by the unexpected demand to continue well after the planned time. National champion Ancil Greene, from Team Shape Shop, guided a group of children throughout their first triathlon experience, with assistance from Sham Seejattan from Penal Triathletes and Alison Eliot from Caribbean Cross Training.

They were sent off, in groups of seven, onto a grassy course and despite a few hindrances (including rain), the children never allowed their enthusiasm to wane.



TTTF president Stan Patino and secretary Karen Araujo organised several Duathlon Races (run, ride and run race, in that order) after the Triathlon Races, for the entrants who were either unable or fearful to swim.
