PRIME MINISTER Kamla Persad-Bissessar leaves the country today for St Lucia to attend the 33rd annual Conference of Caricom Heads of Government.

THE Government through State agency the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is intent on rebuilding Beetham Gardens, which for decades has been a depressed area replete with poverty, lawlessness and dilapidated infrastructure.

THE STATE will proceed to construct eight new police stations under the same contractor which Udecott awarded the project to in 2010, on the eve of the general election, Bouygues Batiment Trinidad and Tobago Construction Company (BBTTCC), in a near $290 million contract.

OPPOSITION LEADER and People’s National Movement (PNM) political leader Dr Keith Rowley yesterday appealed to Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to instruct Government Chief Whip Dr Roodal Moonilal make a request to Speaker Wade Mark that the House of Representatives be reconvened before July 11.
