The gaping hole which appeared on Scott Street, San Fernando on Monday was repaired within hours and traffic began flowing shortly after mid-night.

The ten foot deep hole forced the closure of the link road between Cipero Street and San Fernando Bye Pass on Monday, resulting in traffic jams in the immediate vicinity as well as heavy losses to business owners along the route..

It was similar to the one which appeared on Beetham Highway in Port-of-Spain near the Lighthouse less than two weeks ago .

Crews from the Ministry of Works as well as Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) worked round the clock to restore the roadway.
