A d v e r t i s e m e n t No dengue outbreak
Friday, February 3 2012 THE Health Ministry yesterday issued a media release stating that its Insect Vector Control Division office for Victoria East/Nariva/ Mayaro received a report of one case of dengue on January 26. As part of the investigation into the case the IVCD Unit visited the patient’s home on January 27 and the patient’s school St Thomas RC in Mayaro on January 30. “A thorough investigation of the school was carried out during the visit, in an effort to identify breeding sites of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, as well as to treat stagnant bodies of immovable water with the larvicidal agent Temephos,” the release stated.
