One of the most anticipated band launches takes place this weekend when large band Tribe takes flight with their 2013 presentation, “Butterflies, Beasts and Bacchanal”.
What is becoming known as “band launch season” is in full swing as Tribe is the second large band to take their followers out of their Carnival tabanca which began at the end of the day on Carnival Tuesday.
Tribe’s launch takes place tomorrow at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain, renamed the Kingdom of Bacchanal for the night. Media and specially invited guests will attend a media launch beginning at 8.30pm and the band launch and party begins at 10 pm.
The events is drinks inclusive and tickets have been on sale since the beginning of the month.
Tribe was launched in 2004 after section leaders from various bands joined forces to take all- inclusive mas “to a higher level.” According to the band’s website, Tribe offers a unique and professional approach to Carnival for masqueraders who were fed-up of the lack of options in playing mas.
Aside from the band, Tribe is also a Carnival promotion company with a team that has been involved in event-planning and event-management for over 15 years. The Tribe team is made up of a fusion of “mas-makers,” designers and experienced Carnival people who are focused on providing the “Ultimate Carnival Experience” for masqueraders by producing a superior product.
The Tribe team, headed by Dean Akin, also produces the carnival band, Bliss, the 2013 presentation for which will be launched at a later date.
