THE FUNERAL service for murder victim Tevin Alexander,18, is expected to take place on Saturday and he will be buried at the Diamond Village cemetery in Claxton Bay, confirmed his mother Michelle Alexander.

Alexander said that an autopsy done yesterday at the Forensic Science Centre in St James confirmed that her son died as a result of a gunshot wound to the back of his neck. “Only just now we registered the death so most likely the funeral would be on Saturday at a church in Diamond Village. We are awaiting the arrival of Tevin’s father, who is in the USA so he could attend the funeral,” said the mother of 12.

Alexander of Diamond Village was expected to take up employment this week as a security officer at a construction company. On Sunday he was fatally shot as he ran from a fight which broke out between two groups of men at a bar at Claxton Bay Junction.

An eyewitness told police that Alexander was running towards Abdul Trace when a car pulled alongside him and the occupants grabbed and forced him inside.

He was shot in the car and his body dumped along Sum Sum Hill Road near a closed down gas station. Persons who subsequently discovered the body alerted the police and officers from the Couva Police Station subsequently arrested a man and impounded a vehicle. Investigations are continuing.
